On 31 January, 5 members of the Prosperity Media team headed down to Melbourne for the 2024 APAC Search Awards. We had been shortlisted in 8 categories and were eager to bring home wins for our clients.

  6. Best Use of Search – Travel/Leisure (SEO): GO Rentals
  7. Best Use of Content Marketing: ResDiary
  8. Best Use of Search – B2B (SEO): ResDiary

The team embarked from Sydney Airport bright and early. After landing in Tullamarine, the team was eager to try some famous Melbourne coffee and prepare for the night ahead.

Once we had suited (and dressed) up, we were ready to head to the event venue.

There was plenty of excitement in the air. Awards nights are a great opportunity for SEO work, which often takes place in the background, to be recognised.

Often, our submissions are a year in the making. We can spend over 200 hours a month on work for our clients.

At Prosperity, we work tirelessly on everything from keyword research to creating the perfect piece of content. We partner with our clients to design strategies and implement the work we have done.

Initiatives like the APAC Search Awards are an outstanding opportunity for all that work to be acknowledged. While the best reward is achieving excellent rankings and ROI for our clients, winning some trophies is great too.

The awards took place at the lovely Zinc at Fed Square, right on the bank of the Yarra River.

The team behind the awards immediately treated us to a great time. Drinks were flowing, though most of the team stuck to soft drinks and non-alcoholic Carlton Draughts.

We were then instructed to take our seats, and had a chance to chat with other leading APAC search professionals who were up for honours. After a delicious 3-course meal, the festivities began.

While we’re incredibly proud of all our campaigns, we we thrilled to to receive special recognition in the following categories:

Best Use of Search – Travel/Leisure (SEO)

The awards came in thick and fast. Prosperity’s first win of the evening in the Best Use of Search – Travel/Leisure category. We took home this award thanks to a simple 8-article cluster that resulted in an 10,804% return on investment for our client, GO Rentals.

The goal of our SEO campaign was to increase the visibility of GO Rentals in markets other than New Zealand. Due to the use of a local ccTLD, it was a struggle for the site to rank in significant international markets like the US, UK and Australia.

This cluster was created with deep thought into what users from these markets wanted to know when heading to New Zealand. We addressed questions that did not have a clear, concise answer available on Google. We also bolstered the articles with further questions derived from sources like People Also Ask.

Thanks to this strategy, we were able overcome the challenges faced and deliver excellent SEO results. We achieved 25 featured snippets in 6 countries, and had 58 keywords ranking on the first page of Google.

At Prosperity, we were incredibly proud of this piece of work. We were therefore ecstatic to see it recognised in this category.

Best Use of Search – B2C (SEO)

We weren’t kept waiting long for our next victory of the evening. Next up was the Best Use of Search – B2C category. This time, our campaign with CPAP Direct took home the top honour.

The major issues our client faced were unoptimised content and a lack of content strategy targeting top-of-funnel customers. This campaign took a back-to-basics approach to improving Search performance.

This approach included:

  • Mapping out ideal keyword targets for collection and product pages
  • Optimising top revenue-generating pages for Search
  • Creating high-quality content asserts
  • Link acquisition for key pages

As a result of this campaign, CPAP Direct achieved a return on investment of over 900%. This award win reflected the impact that a well-conceived SEO strategy can have on a business.

Best Use of Content Marketing

While the Prosperity team would have been thrilled to walk away from the evening with 2 trophies in tow, we were ecstatic when it was announced that we had achieved a hat-trick. Our campaign with ResDiary utilised a content strategy based on 3 pillars:

  1. Target audience research
  2. Comprehensive blog content
  3. Building authority with ebooks and statistical analyses

With an understanding of the target audience, we created top-of-funnel content that met the search intent of hospitality business owners and managers. We were also able to drive readers down the funnel to ResDiary’s table management software.

Highly comprehensive blog content was then created to satisfy customer queries. In addition, we also invested in rich content in the form of ebooks and statistical analyses. 

This showcased ResDiary’s authority with regard to hospitality, and used proprietary data to create valuable, original content. Prosperity Media collaborated with ResDiary’s PR agency to create the best possible content for users.

As a result of this hard work, our SEO campaign achieved a 100% ROI.
