Gary Vaynerchuk Sydney Event Review
Gary Vaynerchuk Sydney Event Review
On Tuesday 15th March Gary Vaynerchuk was locked in to speak at La Montage in Sydney. The team at Prosperity Media have been big fans of Gary Vee following his previous books, following his YouTube channel and blog posts. So we were all looking forward to it!
The talk by Gary was part of a global speaking tour he is doing with his team.
On March 8th I decided this would be a great opportunity for young marketing employees to attend, because attending an event such as this is a great change to get motivated and also grow a business or start a business.
As I had already purchased a few tickets for my team I asked the event organizers if we could secure a bunch more for young marketing people who may want to attend this event yet due to cost $200-$600 they may not be able to afford to attend. When you are a young student getting your hands on that kind of cash can be hard.
Originally I said I only had 4 tickets though really I had close to 18 to give away to lucky people!
I reached out on the Sydney Startup Community and our Online Marketing Sydney community we instantly had numerous emails sent in with people asking for tickets –
I will share two quick examples of emails that came in some people went above and beyond and were very thankful for the tickets –
The entries were really great to read over and see who was interested to attend and the reasons why.
The 17 lucky winners were all sent the following email –
Now on the day of the event I had a few meetings on in the morning so I was able to turn up to the event at around 2.30pm
The first speaker named Dale Beaumont we saw was quite good he provided some interesting tools you can use in your business such as:
– Shakr
– Dunnk
– Voxer
– Sniply
Dale was also kind to give away one of his latest books which was a nice gesture for the crowd.
Next on stage was Caleb Maddix – Caleb is a 14 year old hustler from the USA who already makes well over 6 figures a year from his online courses and revenue streams. I will admit he was defiantly one of the best young speakers I have ever watched live.
Below is a photo of me speaking to Caleb at the VIP event.
Next up after Caleb was Gary Vee,
Gary took his family wine business from $3M to $60M a year.. and now runs VaynerMedia which does $100M a year.
When Google ads came out, he owned the wine keywords at 5c a click. His email open rates were as high as 91%. Insane numbers!
– Understand the context of your audience.
– Don’t romanticise how you make money, the market doesn’t care.
– Big shifts are happening. Pay attention and don’t hold on to things that don’t work any more.
– Educate yourself. Put in the work which matches your ambition.
– Generations of attention doesn’t last that long.
